Recently, I read an article from a New York lawyer on the internet which stated; “You cannot have a white person running for president because white men are dangerous and women do not want to have a white man as their president.” This article was published on the site of a conservative think tank and obviously the author has been watching Fox News and has been repeating white man’s rationalization for decades. That is not surprising given the fact that they do not learn from history, they do not take a stand for what is right, and they certainly do not understand what it means to be considered a good person or a bad person. In their world, if you are a conservative you are a horrible person, period. And if you are a liberal you are an awful person.
The reasoning behind this argument is typical, indeed it is predictable – People do not like change, especially in the form of positive change. If one feels threatened by a black man, or a Muslim for that matter, one should not be appointed to a high government post, nor should one be a trusted advisor to that same government. It’s time for the world to wake up and smell the coffee. It is time to stop being so politically correct.
There is no doubt that there are problems that need to be solved. We all know that – However, one has to ask if it is wise to throw away time and energy focusing on the minority problems within our nation and focus all your energies on fighting a supposed “war” against “racism” when there is no such thing. How can we fix things if we are not even sure that they are problems?
Secondly, I do not believe – that the United States of America is a collectivism, social democracy nation. Our ancestors gave their lives to work for a country that would provide for their individual needs. Their ideas were put to work long before the US ever existed. Today we live in a meritocratic society, but that is not to say that individual freedom is unimportant. Individual rights are a crucial part of our way of life.
The bottom line is, I do not support the New York lawyerrist rant – I think that he is a bright young man, who should be studying in the Hall of Fame. I also think that his article is way too simplistic and way too arrogant for his own good. If someone has a bright future ahead of them, why are they hurrying up to become a lawyer, when all they want to do is enjoy life as much as possible? It is a free world, and we should all be allowed to make mistakes, and not hold ourselves back because someone else thinks that we are not living life to the fullest.
Lastly, I do not consider – any of the statements made by the lawyeracist either funny clever, or entertaining. Rather, they are dangerous and should be taken very seriously. It is not funny to call someone a retard or a sell out. It is not clever to call the United States of America an empire. It is simply insane.
