In the famous “nosis episode” of the famous television show “boss class action suit”, attorney Michael Schaffer (played by Ben Kingsley) lectures a group of plaintiffs suing GlaxoSmith Kline, the company behind the popular Channel 4 soap opera Top of the Line. He attempts to teach them all about conversational hypnosis, claiming that it is the only way to convince a witness to change his or her opinion in a court case to one in your favor. After watching the presentation, you begin to ask yourself why do these so-called experts on the subject waste their time teaching such things?
The real reason that these experts: waste so much time teaching hypnotism in class action lawsuits is because they don’t really know all that much about it themselves. It seems as if they are trying to jam as much information into a handful of minutes that doesn’t really require their full attention. In short, they are not hypnotists, and they don’t really understand what makes a hypnotist successful at their game. So when you see an expert who claims to have been hypnotized by plaintiffs’ attorneys during a court deposition, consider this: if the expert was able to hypnotize anyone to do their bidding, then he or she would already be a master at the art of persuasion – wouldn’t they themselves be a master persuader? You see what I’m getting at here?
There is one other reason: that I can think of that proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that lawyers really don’t know much about hypnotism. That reason is that they don’t even know the first thing about hypnotism! Let’s face it. There are some pretty heavy topics involved when it comes to hypnotism, including just how exactly a person is put under hypnosis, and what it can mean for you once you are put under its effect. If you’re a layperson, you probably don’t have all of the necessary background information to comprehend the information that your expert seems to be raving about. And even if you have some idea about what hypnosis is and how it works, chances are that you may not be able to apply the knowledge you have to the situation at hand, especially if you don’t have some real expertise in this area.
And that brings me to the last reason: that I can think of as being so devastating for the validity of any kind of diagnosis – because the field of medicine has long since been corrupted by those whose only purpose is to make a buck. For instance, we have doctors who have no medical training whatsoever, who diagnose ailments based on their personal experiences and observations, and who prescribe medications based on their own whims. And, worse, there are those who profit off of these same ailments and conditions! That is why it is so important to choose your medical expert with care. Get references and testimonies from others who have been through the class action lawsuit experience, and get an expert who has actual medical experience before trying to evaluate and treat your client.
You may have to spend money in order to afford an expert like that: but you cannot risk your reputation on a questionable specialist. As stated earlier, even the most respected and thorough hypnotists fall short of their mark sometimes, and that is something that you will want to avoid at all costs. And if you are trying to get your clients out of debt, a proven and reliable hypnotist would be the only way that you can proceed. This is not to say that hypnotists cannot work wonders on people with very severe emotional issues, but if they fail badly, your case is probably better off going to court because you stand a better chance of getting your money back.
It is also imperative that you work with an honest hypnotism expert: who will not take advantage of your situation. Never let an inexperienced hypnotist hypnotize you into signing over the deed to your home. You will need to remember that this is a case regarding contract law, not fraud. If you do not feel comfortable with the proposed therapist, move on to another one.
If this is a class action lawsuit that you are involved in, this may be your only option, so choose carefully.
